The Monitoring the Future Survey provided detailed questionnaires about drug and tobacco use to 46,000 teen students between 8th and 12th grades. The statistics outlined in this survey were bolstered by data from addiction and substance abuse treatment centers nationwide. During 2010 more than 100,000 teens were treated for marijuana abuse and addiction at drug rehab centers or other treatment facilities. These startling figures are all the more frightening when you consider that teens that become dependent on marijuana are much more likely to become dependent on other more dangerous substances later, such as heroin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], cocaine and meth.
According to a study conducted by the Monitoring the Future Survey,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], marijuana is now more widely used by teens than tobacco. This is an alarming fact because marijuana is nowhere near as benign a substance as the general public is being led to believe. In fact,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], smoking marijuana poses many of the same risks as highly toxic tobacco; some of the chemicals produced when smoking pot are identical to those found in cigarette smoke. However, this is completely untrue: prolonged marijuana use does lead to physical dependence- especially in teens. And despite the dangerous nature of tobacco, marijuana poses a greater risk in that it alters the perception of those who use it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], leading to a host of physical, mental and emotional problems.
Of the 10th to 12th grade students in the survey, an astonishing 20% had used marijuana within the previous 30 day period. Among other details,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the surveyed showed that 8th grade to 12th grade students preferred marijuana over tobacco,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with 19.2% reporting tobacco use during the periods in question versus 21.4% when asked the same question about marijuana. This could in large part be attributed to the strong national campaigns right now that are anti-tobacco and pro-marijuana. In fact, teens are so comfortable using marijuana that of the total students who reported using marijuana, one third of them had used 20 out of the previous 30 days. This indicates a chronic problem that is likely to worsen before it gets better.

The most powerful person on the committee or team is not the person in charge. The most powerful person on the committee or team is the person who doesn't get it the most. The reason being is that committees and teams are all-inclusive. They will not move forward without all of their members. Therefore,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the most powerful person on the committee or team is the one who holds it up the most – the one who is least bright.
So, before you expend a lot of money on your team building exercises and teambuilding consultants,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], think about whether or not your organization is right for teams. If so, make sure your team numbers are kept in the single digits. Allow high- performers to work with only other high-performers. Allow mediocre performers to work with mediocre performers. Do not simply mix them all together in the hopes that your people will get along better. That is a recipe for disaster.
Before you think teamwork is the answer and spend large sums of money on “team-building” exercises, maybe you should consider whether your place of business needs teams at all. Perhaps more would get done by leaving your people alone to do what they already excel at. Forcing people to join teams simply for the sake of “inclusion” is a bad idea.
The truth is that there is a real danger in working in teams when the work itself does not call for it.
Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert comic strip agrees. “To mediocre minds,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a brilliant idea and a dumb idea sound exactly the same. Every team will vote out the best ideas and the worst.”

There is no getting around it; every “team” in every organization will be comprised according to the 20-60-20 rule. Forcing people to work in teams is a bad idea especially when most projects do not require collaboration and would, in fact, be better off in the hands of one or two select individuals. But for the sake of workplace harmony, well-meaning but ill-informed managers trot out the, “we’re going to work in teams” philosophy because he or she once read an article touting the benefits of teamwork – without exploring other opinions.
The real challenge to working in teams comes at Performance Review time. Performance reviews are not about the team, they are about the individual. Forcing a potentially prize-winning employee to sit on the team may actually hamper his performance and his performance review.
J. Richard Hackman, the Edgar Pierce Professor of Social and Organizational Psychology at Harvard University and a leading expert on teams says, “Research consistently shows that teams underperform, despite all the extra resources they have. That’s because problems with coordination and motivation typically chip away at the benefits of collaboration. To avoid complacency, though, every team needs a deviant - someone who is willing to make waves and open up the group to more ideas. Unfortunately,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], such individuals often get thrown off the team,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], robbing it of its chance to be magical.”
“Time spent trying to reach consensus on decisions could be better spent acting on the decisions,” says Jon Katzenbach, author of Teams at the Top. “More often than not the team members who possess the knowledge to make an informed decision should do so individually.”
Jeff Palfini, teamwork blogger offers this advice: “Managers confronted with a new task should always consider whether pulling together a team will be the most efficient way to complete the task. Sometimes it’s faster and less complicated to parcel it out or delegate it to one or two people, especially if the task is fairly routine.”

Egypt's military says it has dissolved parliament and suspended the constitution. During the first full day of business since President Hosni Mubarak's ouster,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], soldiers scuffled with hold-out protesters in Cairo's Tahrir Square, and police also demonstrated over their wages.
The military's communiqué was read out in a news flash on state television that parliament is dissolved and the constitution suspended. We live in an abundant, unlimited Universe that is able to provide to us anything we can conceive and believe. All that is required is our desire and then alignment with our desire.
We have the power to change our vibration and change our point of attraction. We just need to let go of the concept that other people have to change for us. We are the ones who make the changes within. Once we change within,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the world without must match up to what our new vibration represents.
1. Identify what you DO want

When we first discover the Law of Attraction and the power we have to attract what we want, we often expect instantaneous results. Results are rarely instantaneous. This isn’t because God/Source/All-That-Is cannot deliver because once we ask; it is given – every time…without question! It is because we live in this time-space reality that allows for a “buffer of time” while we get ourselves into alignment with what we desire!
For example, let’s say you have some clients who take you for granted. Your new desire is to work with clients who appreciate you, respect you, and pay you well. When you ask, it’s given: the universe says yes immediately. The next steps are up to you.
When you step into alignment, you are a powerful creator. You feel terrific because being in alignment is your natural state of being. The clients you had that took advantage of you are quickly replaced with clients who appreciate you or they show up miraculously changed because they have become a vibrational match to the new you! Feeling good is what it’s all about. The more you feel good,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the more you’re in alignment with your desires.
And here’s what that looks like:
Realizations of what we’re no longer willing to accept propel us forward in life. If you think back to some of the major turning points in your life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you will see the realizations you discovered. Our ability to attract becomes magnetized when we can see the gift in the contrast. You can now thank those clients for helping you to gain further clarity. You have let go of what was and can now look forward to what is to come. Then the change comes more swiftly.
If you continue rehashing what you don’t want, complaining about how badly you’re being treated, remembering and reactivating what caused you to get to upset, then you keep yourself stuck where you’ve always been. All you do is continue to attract more of what you don’t want.
Whenever you are experiencing something you don’t want, STOP and take the time to notice and get clear on what you DO want. Write it down. What would it feel like to have this? Utilize all your senses. Then, give thanks for the contrasting experience that allowed you to gain the clarity you now have and smile knowing that what you’ve just birthed is on its way to you!
We live in a universe of contrasts – observing what we do not want births within us the desire for what we do want. Because of contrast, your experience with clients who take you for granted launched a desire for clients who appreciate you. What needs to happen now is a vibrational shift so that you come into alignment with your new desire.
